Try a trend with intu Milton Keynes!
I don't know, but if you're anything like me one of your favourite things about Autumn evenings is cosy nights snuggled up indoors, box set bingeing with Netflix, watching Strictly Come Dancing with a glass of wine (don't judge me) and flicking through a great fashion magazine featuring all the new season trends! There is so much choice this Autumn inspired from the catwalks of New York, London and Milan I decided to go in search of the designer trends that everyone is seeking on the 'high street'. I am based in Milton Keynes and was lucky to be invited to attend the launch of the new season trends at my local intu Milton Keynes, the perfect opportunity to see what I could find that matches the marvel of the designer brands for a fraction of the cost. After all style is style and fashion trends are accessible to us all... it's how we wear it that counts!

First stop H&M, well with the revival of the 1960's, 70's and 80's trend of dark moody florals and geometric prints hitting the stores I headed straight for the new collaboration between H&M and Richard Allan featuring the designers archive scarf designs with a sixties vibe. Richard Allan gained a reputation as an innovative producer of silk scarves in bold, abstract designs with distinct colours and really striking monochromes. The range does not disappoint and I found a great blouse for just £12.99 (I purchased) in a fabulous autumnal print and colour that's perfect for styling both from day to night. There are also wrap dresses and prints that would rival Dian von Furstenberg for under £30 along with silk effect scarves in the designers prints from just £6.99.
After channelling my inner 60's vibe I headed off to Victoria's Secret. As every stylist knows a great outfit starts with solid foundations and in the case of fashion that's great underwear. The assistants in Victoria's Secret intu Milton Keynes were so helpful, I have to admit I was a little bit wary as my 40 + year old body doesn't resemble one of their super slinky Angel models, but I was shown to the fitting room where the assistant introduced herself and explained that the Victoria's Secret bra's do fit differently so not to be surprised if my bra size was different than my usual - it was, lets just say I was happy though! Top Tip - don't walk in and buy your normal size, get fitted first! After my bra fitting I was shown around the store and introduced to the many different styles available. I am usually the queen of comfort so a well fitted nude coloured t shirt bra is essential in my world which I found with ease. However, I was totally swept away in the romance and beauty of the other gorgeous ranges available all in this seasons jewel colours as well as the muted and tonal shades of brown and creams too! I indulged in a few pieces to compliment my new Autumn style! I also had a good sniff of the the brand new Bombshell Intense fragrance - it's WOW!
Next Stop Zara, the epicentre for fashion and channelling catwalk designer trends to the high street. Here I pick up a jacket that channels my inner Coco Chanel - the fabric, the buttons, the puff sleeves (another big trend this coming season) - you would be hard pushed to tell the difference between this jacket and an original Chanel but the £79.99 price tag might just impress you more! Zara never fail to bring the latest trends from the catwalk to the high street with speed! They have their finger on the pulse of fashion literally and that is why it's always so busy with many of their pieces selling out within days! Moral of the story here; if you find it and you like it - buy it! If like me you prefer to sparkle and shine your way through the year, Zara also currently have some amazing pieces I found that are set to take you through the whole year, including a sell out cream £59.99 sequin top (keep your eyes peeled for this to come back into stock), great with denim or leather. There's also a bright (and I mean bright) red sequin loose fit blazer and trousers (for the creative dresser inside of you) - perfect for the monochrome jewel colour trend that's set to be popular too.
All sequinned out its time for a break so I head off for quick a pitstop at Vibe for a fresh strawberry samba smoothie before heading off to New Look, with pieces that rival the designers but at a fraction of the cost including faux leather trousers, shorts, jackets and t-shirts as well as gorgeous camel coloured coats, New Look have a really great take on the trends for the season ahead. Say Yes to Yellow in the beautiful mustard satin pleated dress (already sold out a few times) the dress is an absolute steal for £27.99 and a dupe of a designer for sure. I also totally fell in love with a snakeskin handbag which is so similar to a Bvlgari and Kate Spade bag I have lusted after for a while but obviously again at a fraction of the cost! Loving the ruffles and romance available in the collection too with puff sleeves and ruffles on skirts and dresses, the new season collections really have something affordable for everyone.
Always one to love my denim, I took a quick look in Gap for their new autumn ranges- fell in love with their wide leg cords, boyfriend jeans and their puff sleeve crewneck sweaters, in this season's key colour trend of muted purple / lilac is gorgeous and rival to a few designer jumpers I've seen this season too. Finally I headed into Burton - well, Mr OYS needs some new autumn pieces too and with lots of denim to choose from this season we were spoilt for choice.
