Post Pandemic Style....
The first online London Fashion week took place last week featuring, dare I say it, forthcoming trends for autumn / winter this year!
With post pandemic dressing heading our way it can either go one of two ways - we’ll all go mad for over dressing or we’ll stick with dressing for comfort as lockdown eases ! I know I am craving colour, heels and handbags for summer in fact I intend to ditch the joggers!!! Who am I kidding, I’ll just wear them with the heels!!
Truth is there are a number of British designers who are likely to disappear in the next 6 months if they don’t see a swift upturn in sales - the pandemic shook the fashion world! But have we all changed our buying habits, will we go back to the way we used to shop ! Have people finally realised they don’t need as much ‘stuff’ or will they go ‘fashion’ mad refilling their wardrobes with new seasonal trends ... you can’t blame them, it has been a year we won't forger and we all really crave the feel good factor!
As a stylist I have to say I am slightly bored of leisurewear, don’t get me wrong I love it for comfort but I’m tired of wearing it! I love the variety in my life of dressing for different occasions, trying new trends, getting creative with my style but that’s me and I guess that’s one of the reasons I love what I do and why I adore helping others find their individual style too ..
So next winter will bring us a winterised version of the forthcoming summer trends - I see pattern, colour, simple clean lines, beautiful dresses - I think the designers are wary! So the good news here is you can invest .. invest in the trends pieces you will love and wear ... invest in pieces for summer that can be winterised (I’ve said it again) by layering later in the year too ... but above in the meantime dress yourself happy because don’t we all deserve that right now!!
So, what will you be wearing out on June 21st ?
