Autumn style is hitting the stores in MK
As seen in Mum to Mum Magazine September edition, Janine is Resident Mum to Mum blogger and Personal Stylist
Did you know that most women only wear 80% of their wardrobe 20% of the time?!
As busy mums it can be hard to keep on top of life in general, let alone keep looking at the latest trends and concentrate on ourselves. We worry about what to wear, if it suits us, is it too young or too old for us? The key to style is understanding your individual style, being comfortable and confident, and making your wardrobe work for you (that’s where I come in) and it doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
Stylists aren’t just for the rich and famous, after all we all have to get dressed every day! Buying the right clothes can save you money and it’s better for the environment too – sustainability is big news nowadays!
Take a look in your wardrobe tonight, I bet you have clothes you love to wear and a lot you haven’t worn in well…. ages! Dig out what makes you feel confident and let’s get styling! Before you go shopping again though, make a list of what you already have in your wardrobe and then make a note of the gaps you need to fill, that way you won’t be tempted to impulse buy!
Autumn is approaching, here are just a few of my tips and trends straight from the catwalk for the new season ahead:
Coats – Faux fur coats are back this year but make way for the big brother of all coats the lux leather/ faux leather coat! White, beige, camel and brown are big colour palette trends!
Monochromatic look – Wear one colour palette, maybe a vibrantly coloured suit with a lighter shade of colour in the blouse.
Prints – Prints are here to stay! Check out the high street for a fantastic variation of all different kinds, from animal print to florals, checks to geometric. Puff sleeves – Pump up the volume in your shoulders with a puff sleeve! They look great with straight leg denim and heels.
Athlesiure – A trend that’s set to stay, sneakers and trainers with jeans, dresses and skirts and gym clothes outside the gym.
Boots – It’s a shift away from skinny stilettos to a heavier duty feel for one of the trends! Think combat boots with a British punk modern twist.
Belts – Cinch it in! The trend is back, we’ll all be reaching for belts to wrap around everything from coats to blazers to knits.
Feathers – Feathers are set to be a big trend for the season ahead, look out for them on fringing, accessories, handbags and jewellery.
